FACEBOOK TO TEAM UP WITH SPOTIFY, MOG AND RDIO

Don’t start confusing Facebook with that other more musically-inclined social networking site (cough Myspace) just quite yet. Rumors have been circulating for quite some time that the company wants to launch a music service for users and now Mashable is reporting that it looks like this might happen in the next month with Spotify, MOG, and Rdio as launch partners.

According to the report, Facebook will announce this new music and media platform at the f8developer conference on September 22 and it points out that this service will be different from other providers because Facebook will not hot or stream the actual music, but rely on their partners.

Mashable’s sources did not know if Facebook will open the platform up to other interested developers.
